For those outside of NZ… Shortland Street is a daily kiwi soap opera that can become quite addictive… Its been around since I was a baby and is NZs longest running show. It’s based in Auckland’s “Shortland Street” Hospital… You can watch it free at TVNZ On Demand

If you have a few friends that enjoy the show why not play this cool game that they play over at “Street Talk,” The Shortland Street fanclub.

Choose four Shortland Street characters for the month.

Points are earned each time your character does one of the following:

100 points if your character: leaves the show, marries, divorces, proposes, gets pregnant (mother or father of child)

90 points if your character: gets fired, Breaks off relationship

80 points if your character: moves house, starts a new job

50 points if your character: sleeps with someone, receives medical treatment/advice

40 points if your male character is seen with his top off or if your female character is seen in her bra/bikini

25 points if your character: says the name of a character who has left the show

20 points if your character: is seen on a non-set location (max of one per episode. e.g. park, outside hospital, gym, beach)

15 points if your character says a New Zealand placename (Ferndale doesn’t count) or says a sentence in another language (not just hello)

12 points if your character: is seen reading/looking through a book or magazine, seen holding money or EFTPOS/credit card

10 pointsif your character: kisses or hugs someone, operates or assists in surgery

5 pointsif your character: says Ferndale, Shortland Street or DHB

3 points if your character: gets in or out of a lift

2 points if your character uses a computer or phone

1 point if your character: has a drink (of any sort)

Twists:

The first character you choose earns you double points on Mondays.

Triple points for your first character and double points for your second character during the 4000th episode (Friday June 6th).

-20 points if your character says bitch/bastard/slag or is seen doing smoking or doing drugs

Pick four four characters - remembering that the order matters for the two twists!

In typical kiwi student Fashion I Plan to drink sunday morning through evening with fellow Students. Will Be Fun. Chaos… Yes, Drunk Blogs… Possibly, stay tuned.

Word has broken from unnamed sources that we will be hearing from Vodafone NZ regarding pricing and plans during the beginning of July. Let’s hope for Tuesday.

As for the price. I’m going into overdraft for this little puppy so I am prepared to pay anything (within reason)
